So I’m guessing you can and to fish towards tide mills or off the end? Why would you fish in the boat channel anyway?
I’ve never fished it myself to be honest but the east side seems quite a trek for the potential advantage gained.
I have a century formula tip tornado I bought new around 1994? So 30yrs old it’s my go to Bass surf rod …I love it and it will put a 4oz weight and 2 big worm baits 100yds easily.
The trick is having a tidy rig and knowing where to put it!
Hi Willkie
Welcome to the forum!
I’m impressed you got some! Pett is one of my stomping grounds and last time I tried I blanked so gave up!
I or should I say the better half mainly prawns now at bexhill or Glyne Gap but this year has been quite poor so far and I have to say she isn’t happy...
The winter beaches I fish aren’t really low tide venues so set up on HW bank as fish 3hrs before and 2hrs after HW and at worst will be 30-40yds from tide line
I use a Fenix headlight for all my fishing, if it’s really cold or I plan a long winter night session I put a Tilly lamp in the back of my brolly set up and have amazing heat to boot! Heats up pies along with light for baiting up the 2nd rigs!
I check the BS of the swivel before buying seeing as the size rating seems to vary but as I use 60lb leaders and rig bodies I use 60lb swivels, small and tidy…simples
And as a bonus you get the exact rig you want with the hook style and size you want along with the hook lengths you want.
Start fishing with confidence and watch it all go downhill from there! 😂
I’m glad this subject came up so nice one @Casker
A little while ago I was given a fly set up from an old friend who enjoyed fly fishing for Pike.
I have a couple of rods, reel with 2 spools and a load of flies and sundries. I’m saving it for when I retire!
So my question is … as said it has 2...
Ah I see, we’ll get pair of wellies, get pair thick wool socks, change baits every 15 mins, catch lots of fish keep moving around and you’ll forget about your feet.
Why do you need special wellies?
I only use standard wellies bait pumping or if I’m fishing on the sand so during the winter not that often.
If I want wellies on to keep draught’s out or raining I’ll wear standard wellies and a 2nd pair of heavy socks!
Simples…
