    Akios AirPower 435’s a pair of. Snapped one the day after purchase, in fairness this was replaced. Snapped one again about a month later. The tips worked loose. The pair was then changed under warranty for the Akios AirPower surf “black editions”. Just lost confidence in them now

    Are the fathom 12’s the same size as the 515’s? I used to use ABU 6500 ct’s but what has happened to ABU? They don’t seem to market the CT caged reels anymore or have I missed something?

    Was more an enquiry than any criticism, but as you mention diameter I guess so. I’ve never really considered using a bs that high so I only really look at diameter in the lower bs’s 👍

    The penn fathom I’ve heard is a good reel, I’m not sure why the 525 mags are so popular as they seem quite wide and maybe off balance? Happy for other views on that one? I use the 515 mag 4, can’t fault them as I have 3! Nice and compact. Get good distance if I need it and a good rate of retrieve.

    Why do you use 20lb line over cleanish ground? I use Asso ultra cast 14lb with a 60lb leader over clean ground without any issues for years.
