I was thinking the same thing - because the Breakaway links (i love them) have too much structure to them - you need something clean and simple.
I've seen the VMO video but can't remember why he thought it was a good idea - maybe to change hooks quickly? What's the rush!
On the subject of big baits - saw this overly dramatised fishing session today - they used a kayak to drop big baits far out (on other videos I've seen the use of drones to do the same).
100% - in fact my uncle used something similar (homemade from billy goat hair) AND ideally he would educate me on it BUT he's a Jehovah's Witness now and all he want's to talk about is the bible 😞
Current status - still need to scope out the location so (for now) get one lure that's "reasonably good" to give it a go AND while doing that cast a baited circle on a float.
