    My brother when he's got a load of rag left over after a session salts his rag then wraps in newspaper like blacks and freezes them to be honest he's outta fished all of us sometimes using salted rag. Hope this helps.

    Boat fishing rod for starting up?

    I used to use a 50lb class rod and gave it up no fun. Now I use a Gx2 kayak rod 12/20 lb class 1500 cm long it cost me £35 about 4 years ago and I've never looked back so much fun playing a fish to the boat it bounces like feck even with a small codling on and I've had ling to 18lb on it👍.

    Yeah that's what I do but always at the back of the hook / hooks (pennel rig) the more hook showing the better. I normally get the wings wrapped in cling film, some times I leave it wrapped and stab the shit out of it with one of the wires on the grip lead so it releases the scent slowly.

    I use a pulley pennel rig with a 6/0 cox & rawl and a 5/0 mustard circle hook as a dropper I get most my fish on the dropper hook. 👍
