Photos are just stunning - great thread ??

    Does it harm the fish?

If possible I’ll handle all fish using a wet hands / towel, and smaller fish try reviving fully in a bucket of fresh water - this helps prevent seagulls snatching them as they recover. Makes me cringe a bit seeing pictures of fish (that haven’t been dispatched for the table) on sharp barnacle...

That one ended in a blank. The goading mullet were swimming past in numbers, mocking as they went. Bastards.

Next short local session targeting schoolies… 1/2 ounce lead and the mighty pen rod are all that’s required here! That and pop ups with tiny baits (Flappy will be pleased) as the crabs ? will strip bait in seconds so need suspending off the bed.

That’s it for this short session, lost a nice bass in the weed when the top eye clogged up ? But otherwise happy to be out.

Today’s rig of choice is a short snood loop rig with size 2 finewires. Same rig I caught the bass on yesterday.

Next session in progress! No idea how this will go, bright sunshine not good but on the other hand it’s a big tide. Either way it’s damn nice sitting here enjoying the scenery and peace ?

South East A rare daytime outing

Excellent little session! I was near there yesterday and thought it looked very bassy, nice colour and a bit of surf ?

South East Dug some worm, let’s see what it catches…

Signing off today’s session with a few more whiting: Pic of a new rig I tried out, pulley dropper. No tangles and casted well so will carry on using it alongside my usual loop rigs. Pretty happy with today’s session! Next few will be shorter sessions locally, will report back ? Cheers...

South East Dug some worm, let’s see what it catches…

Well you never know when fishing… Just as I posted the above update I noticed my line had arced well down tide. Upon reeling in it started going back up tide ? This absolute beauty was the result, it smashed one of the pin whiting and somehow my size 2 fine wire hooked and held despite a real...

South East Dug some worm, let’s see what it catches…

Conditions less than ideal…. bright sunshine, clear water, crabs stripping my beautiful lugworms in 5 minutes. But I don’t care it’s lush to be out. Oh and blank has been saved by my near, but not quite personal worst whiting.
