I like the use of braid on my FS for lure fishing. Had a bad experience with braid on a larger spool once and has put me off using it since, never say never and with the development of these new braids things might be different these days 🤔🤔🤔

I know maybee i should have worded the question better lol as in im looking for a lower diameter Mono with similar B/S currently using the Varivas 20Lb they so do an 18 @0.37 as well just wondering would the diammater mate a difference with casting ?
As we tend be creatures of habit I currently use a 20lb mono main line @.40 to fish over clean/mixed ground using FS.
I'm thinking of going down to 18lb @.35/37 just to have a smaller diameter line and possibly adding a few extra yards on the cast without compromising to much much on strength 💪...
What size mono lines are you guys using these days on FS to cover mixed ground. I have been using 20lb @ .40 but thinking of going down to 18lb @.37/35??
Any one had their hands on one of these ? Just seen them start to come into stock with a few retailers

From the description they do look like a fantasic bit of kit.
Like you all my lure fishing reels are all Shimano. I was just wondering has the gap closed between the market leaders such as Shimano and are you now mainly paying for the brand name as such🤔🤔
In the past I've always tended to use Shimano FS reels I don't tend to spend more than £200 on a reel for beach casting.
In that price bracket who are now producing the better products Penn or Shimano?
