    Boots.

I cant get on with boot foot waders- use vision stockingfoot with the snowbee rockhopper boots. The waders have lasted me 4 years in the rivers and using them for sea until they give up. Will buy another pair of the waders. The boots I bought late last year and are doing well so far, and can't...

Always had great service from them and will continue to use them for my tackle consumables

    South Wales Pier fishing

With a bit of planning and knowledge of the venues there's a vast amount of places on the doorstep. It's not much different to fishing from a pier as its mostly dependant on tides and weather conditions and the target species at the venue. Depending on where it is it might be better fished...

    South Wales Pier fishing

I'm just up the road from you in aberdare. I dont fish piers as there normally pretty busy venues. Are you looking for easy to access venues? There's a few places I would suggest that would include monknash, white light, green light, knapp, foreshore, friars all pretty easy to access with a...

    Century compressor s

Haven't used an S, but have a pair of SS that I bought for the rougher stuff. Very nice capable rods that have showed some nice bites from small dogs and eels, so would imagine the S would be more than worthy if the price is right and the condition is decent

    Circle hooks.

I use 2/0 on 2 hook scratching rigs with a 40mm dongle, there probably as small as I would go

    Century NG Blue Thermo Smock

I have slowly grown out of a medium to between the M and L. I went for a large and wear a hoody underneath and it fits perfectly, and it's not too baggy at all. There pretty warm too surprisingly, and it compresses down really well into a bag/seatbox

Advice Sonik SKS Black Beach 13ft

Have this issue with my century rods using the sliding reel seat and the penn fathoms. Seems the only way around it is insulation tape or a coaster- I use a coaster as it allows me to undo it and move the seat if need be.

    Lamprey as Bait?

Well that's news to me as well. Have used it for pike for years and it's normally loads in stock and not exactly in short supply in the shops I use

    Lamprey as Bait?

Can't hurt to try it. I'll be taking a pack or 2 with me along with Mackrell to see if they go for it. Anything with scent and blood should do the same job I would of thought

    Lamprey as Bait?

Have thought about using lamprey for tope. It gives off a smell and quite a lot of blood. Have some in the freezer ready for the summer

    New lure reel

I tried both the 2500 and 3500 on the rod, and the 2500 felt better to me. I didnt want to go too big, but if in the future I feel its too small I will upsize, but for now it's only for 20-30g lures

    New lure reel

Decided after some research im going for a slammer 2500. I'm expecting it to get dunked at some point while wading, so the ip rating gives me that extra piece of mind. Thanks to all that gave some input and helped the decision making 👍

    What boots could I get?

They have titanium spikes in them I believe, they have been a godsend on the rock marks for me, especially on the wet algae. I'll take a picture of the underside later for you. I prefer the boots than the wellies, they have a zip on the side and they are much easier for me to get on and off...

    What boots could I get?

Snowbee rockhoppers for me. Usual size for without waders, and a size up for wearing with waders. My felt sole wading boots fell appart on a rock mark before Christmas

    New lure reel

Iv spent some time this afternoon having a look at both, and I think ill be going for the slammer. I'll be wading at some point so the reel will probably get a dunk in honesty

    Buying terminal tackle online

I tend to bulk order on veals when they have an offer on. I know its not cost effective in terms of its not a bulk sized pack rather multiple packs of smaller sizes. I would prefer to buy a pack of 100 hooks/swivels/bait clips and be done for a few months though.

    New lure reel

Normally use a baitcaster for lure fishing, but this time around I'm looking for a fixed spool reel in the 2500 size and can't decide between two, either- *Penn slammer 2500 *Shimano vanford 2500 I'm leaning more towards a vanford, but would the penn be a better choice and for what reasons (not...

    Baits and lure scents

Have used scents when pike dead baiting, usually inject the oil into the bait using a bait syringe- can't say if its made it more successful or not as haven't fished with 1 rod with scent and 1 rod without side by side. I do have a few different ones left and may try them from the shore at...

    Traces/Hooks

Yep it's not the best I must admit. I do fish a lot of rock marks and find the leader and sometimes a few yards of mainline can feel beat up
