See reply to Wobbler.
I have sailed around this area for a bout 10 years now and it amazes me and who i have sailed with as to the amount of small rubber dingys about 6ft with one bloke on fishing, probably the worst was 3, on a 8 ft one, 2 sitting on each of the tubes and the other sitting...
Yes me too if he has to launch there just head towards Harlech, far quieter.
I was going to let him know that.
i have never fished on boat there bu sailed on yacht on races within club and anything from Criccieth towards the Islands is rammed with any type of stuff that can float and move on...
As above, you do not need go far out in the bay there.
I have been out on boat off Shell Island coast up towards Harlech area, water depth is not deep and plenty to catch within 500 yds off beach.
The reef is off Shell Island southwards to fish over as well.
Some are same some are different. 🤷♂️ 🤷♂️ 🤷♂️ 🤷♂️
I would reckon if you had a 6ft rod that would wind a car in, it would not be classed as a course rod;);)
Know what you mean by rowing against wind.
When i first started fly fishing a load of us went to this reservoir and hired boats, he never had enough oars for all the boats so 2 of us only had 1 oar each, soon give up with that and fished from the bank.
All the sea fishing tackle i have is from 2009 when re-started sea fishing again most is cheap stuff and most reels were free with annual subs to sea fishing mag.
Only decent rod is a Penn bass one not sure exact model but it's purple in color was talking to mate who is a decent bass fisherman...
Just remembered a thing about how to learn fishing.
As a kid of around 10 or 11 would be out on a boat in Isle of man and would be using a feathered trace and old type of boat rod and large wooden reel with about 300yds of 60lb line on, no drag on the reel just slow down with your hand.
Let...
I use 2oz if casting with lure rod standing.
And if on boat anything up to 5oz depends on how fast you want to drop, and where we are water is not deep.
Would not use a 10oz with 5 feathers, christ your arm would be aching
I cannot keep line in air after 3 movements back and too, i just let it land on water and then pick up and cast letting more line out.
Yes bad habit, which must have come about by fly fishing reservoirs with no trees near the back cast.
I again cast with my prominent (right) hand and reel in with it right handed.
If i have fish on and want it wound in i just hold rod with let hand and then wind slack in.
I find it simple to do and again i am too uncomforatble winding left handed.
