I bought a 12ft 3 piece carp rod a few years ago.
Reason being i set it all up before putting in car with trace on, break it down to 4ft sections that will just lay on parcel shelf, all you have to do when at beach is put together, walk to mark, put weight and bait on and away to go.
Saves all...
Chat with mate here and he got old mate who is into old rods and reels.
Reckons he's got stuff worth loads and rare stuff, his place is rammed with it.
Well as the title says.
Went for hair cut (booked a couple of weeks ago as thought going for knee op on 4th and would be fked for a while) and as it was 1 hr before high tide and the mackies are in feathered a rod up and into car, put a set of fishing clothes in, as could not go to barbers...
Same about rain from the heavens running off down lead gullies off church roofs picking up lead stuff and heading to the local watercourse and then to the sea.
o_O  would you not agree!;);)
I have got a plastic bottle of Meths in the garage about a third full, it come from my fathers garage and he passed away in 1991, used it for Tillies he had.
I bet it's aged well ;) ;)
At one mark i fished, i pulled on some odd looking line (just to tidy it up to bin) and i pulled and pulled!
It was only a full length of fly line!
On that location was not a place for fly, so some holiday person must have been using it with bait all i can think of.
I myself started fishing around that age and hardly ever fished "snags" that would loose your weights and now as a 60+ the area i fish is snag free, all sand but on one mark have lost leads due to being buried on the incoming tide and line snapped.
