    Vmo

Really rate veals for their excellent customer service and the issues I have had have been dealt with swiftly. The only negative would have to be their aberdeen hooks bought a couple packs to try em out and they are poor. However, their other products knot tier, heavy duty T bar, etc. have been...

South West First proper session of the year

Beautiful colours on that, I had one 6lbs 2oz just round the corner there last year on a float-fished sandeel fishing for gars. Cracking fish mate, find this time of year good for the donkeys. Tight lines,

    Anyone actively target turbot?

Yes mate that's it, was gonna use an inline attractor spoon for attention puffing the sand but also to keep the sandeel on the deck. When boat fishing for plaice, I do the same and seems to work nicely. I fish for them with the bail arm flicked over and hold/feel for bites through the fingers...

    Anyone actively target turbot?

Yes would definitely be condition dependent, would work on days with very light winds or also thinking offshore winds with little groundswell. Just saves having to keep reeling in baits really slowly. Would be interesting to see how many more sight feeders, plaice, flounder, turbot etc. would be...

    Anyone actively target turbot?

Very interesting mate thank you. Have been thinking I might have a deep float setup in a wide sandy cove/bay where a sandeel bait is just dragging along the bottom by the float whether it be by wind or tide. Or alternatively a light weight on an upnover, both methods trying to set up a drift...

    Anyone actively target turbot?

Interesting post mate thanks for sharing, regarding when you used to get in the water searching for them, did you ever see any nice bigger turbot in the shallows and did you notice a pattern to the kind of features where they'd group up? Have always wanted to do a few drifts over the alderney...

    Anyone actively target turbot?

Will be spending most of my spring chasing these and plaice, would love a turbo of 2lbs+ from the shore here in the South/Southwest. Anyone actively target them with consistent results? What features do you look for in a turbot mark etc. Find that they are very hit and miss even the smaller...

    Century NG Blue Thermo Smock

Love my century smock, bought one just before Xmas, perfect for my fishing and a well thought out design for fishing with the deep pockets, high neck fleece for wind on the back etc. have been in some pretty rough conditions and often trudging through bracken with no issues.

Kamasan pattern and Flattie hook sizes

They are great hooks. Used them in size 2, nice n sharp point did bend out a couple but probably more user error than anything.

Kamasan pattern and Flattie hook sizes

Going to order a box of kamasan b940, will be used mostly for worm baits targetting flatties/scratching mostly after plaice/flounder/gurnards and the occasional session on the sole. Deciding on whether to go for size 2 or 4 and whether to go for the finer wire match hook B940m or standard B940...

Baiting up worms for long distance fishing...

Rethinking tactics and methods for the upcoming season and hope to get out from March onwards with plaice as the main target in mind. Was just wondering how others bait up their delicate worm baits for withstanding the longer distances which are often needed to find the plaice, whilst...

    Advice Dongle

I think it would work well for bass, just wait for the rod to hoop over as they take off with bait then winding in as opposed to striking. Tbh though, vast vast majority of my bass fishing is within 25yds, more within 15yds so I just nick the top of the bait with a circle and lob it out, similar...

    Advice Dongle

In my mind, dongle rigs would result in less hook ups than a pennel with a top circle. Have never tried side by side, but certainly have their place if chasing after fish that pick up a bait and run with catch and release in mind,
