    Gar caught using strips of gar! Usually under a float. Best bait for them. Then butterfly cut and remove the spine to make a nice wide fillet. Then frozen separately on a stainless steel tray, so they stay separate! Then l wrap in clingfilm, 2 to a pack, and keep in the freezer. Easy to grab...

    Been an odd year this one. Not fished as much as usual, fishing has been poor. Loads going on at home with my wife breaking her wrist badly (she has Parkinson's as well), my mam being ill and her bungalow turning black with mould! I also lost one of my closest mates who did not even get to draw...
