Mate caught this dear little fella at green Leigh yestaday on our comp we recon blonde wot do you thinki had this little guy at porlock I’m saying spotty as spots don’t go to edge of wings ??

Both spotties I think , the spots on a blonde go all the way to the edge as you can see from JLD's library images.

The top one has circles of darker spots in the middle of each wing ? Same as the online photo. I'm no expert on rays and will happily bow to a more experienced opinion but that was what I was looking at.

My opinion would be, after consulting Henderson's book

Blonde top, spots go to fringe and there are cream spots which are not usually seen on a Spotted Ray

Spotted lower pic, spots don't go to edge, no cream spots.

It's a pity the top pic doesn't show it flat, that would allow a more positive identification.

Looking at the pic again that ray definitely had a traveler for me good job mr fish wasn’t there ????
