Competition weekend again. The plan was to try a mixed sand/rock beach that can throw up double figure hounds at this time of year, plus good bass too.
Arrived at half tide in daylight to find (as @Christurner had already advised me) the sand hadn’t got the memo and it was more rock than...
That’s even further, especially this time of year.
Annoying as was in the Bideford one last week but had been a long day and wanted to spend minimal time trundling around a supermarket
Perhaps. I agree it wasn’t the most succinct query but we do see a few like that on forums.
Anyway, I’m not losing any sleep over it and have had my say, so… 🤷🏻♂️
The first two pages were fine and you and others answered what you could answer, I appreciate the query wasn’t too specific beyond that.
Then imo it became a bit of a pile on, suddenly the guy was a bot (not from you) etc etc.
I get sometimes we read requests and the advice might not be...
I agree with MOST of your statement… 🤔
I do think tbh this is a bit of a harsh ‘welcome’ to a new member.
It has become a bit robust on here at times and the regulars don’t mind it, or we’re used to it, but it must be off putting for someone coming on and asking questions.
I don’t disagree...
Well…. I hooked one once while the river was in spate, on a flounder spinner.
Within 10 seconds I’d plotted how I’d crack it on the head and how quickly it could be hidden in the seat box.
Then the hook came out, a very angry salmon jumped right in front of me and carried on up the river 🙄...
Yep I was referring to rivers, not the open coast, but our local river is tidal to a point (obviously) and at the extreme reaches there will be a mix of sea and game/coarse fish.
More game tbh
But as you say, as long as you’re using sea gear to target sea fish, and it’s tidal, should be fine
